asr system help,first vette,new member

First i want to thank you guy for letting me post my problems here on corvette forum! I read alot of great ideals and solution to many problems. But I haven't seen a real solution for the
asr system,my idiot light came on and my idle rpm was running at 1100!!! I turn the car off and started it back up,light was off for awhile, but came on.I'm a fair backyard mechanic but this
one got me baffle!!This is my first vette 93 LT-1 and had to wait until I was 50 to get one (marriage, child, divorce) you understand!! I don't want to screw this up,she a beauty. I'm open to
any Ideals, you can give me.At one time I had a code 43 but this went away after I started using premium gas 93 oct.last owner used regular. Also I just put new set of tires (firestone wide ovals)on!! Old ones were dry rotted and worned out! My used car buddy think this might be part of the problem! So thank, I'm looking to talking to you all.

Get a paper clip in the ALDL connector, and get the codes. Post them up, including which module they come up in.

Thanks I'll have to try to get the codes at morning light. As for the wires they look good, but they are 7mm wire which I don't think are original.I been wanting to change them ,but never got
around to it!!

Not sure about all of your problems, but i was having a problem with high idle and an occational enfine skip, it was showing a code 48, which is the MAF sensor. I asked my mechanic about it and he recommended a MAF sensor cleaner. I think it is a new product, but you can buy it at your local auto parts store for about 6 bucks. Just disconnect the plugs at the MAF sensor and remove the ducts that are around it. Then just spray the MAF sensor cleaner into the duct on the Sensor. Took care of my problems, no more codes, skips, or high idle... not sure if its a temporary fix or not, my car has 92000 miles, so i might end up having to replace it, but for now it worked great, and only cost me 6bucks. Hope this helps out!

Well maybe you don't have to wait...

Some codes are stored as history, and some other codes do NOT light up the SES light. Post back hwat codes you find...
