Oh yes! They are all tough to get in and out of.The door sills are extremely high espescially if you had never been in a C4 until you got yours.

Yah, I just got my car and I've mastered getting in smoothly. Getting out on the other hand is a pretty tough deal. Not fun by any means. I have to stick my right elbow out by the windshield to get leverage to pry myself out. I am working on my abs though at the gym so that I won't need to use the elbow leverage technique.

Gentlemen ( and Ladies):
I am 68 yrs of age and the way I get out of my 87 Vette is to put my left leg out on the road(sidewalk), then I "swing" my body outwards by leaning on my left leg, keeping my body stright upand, voila, I'm out. Sometimes I carry a small box of groceries with me with no trouble. If I can do this very comfortably, then you "young-uns" should be able to. It's my first Vette, too. ;)

I am 50 years old and have found the way MyPetu39 gets out is close to the same as I use. I also rest my left elbow on the sill and balance my weight between it and my left leg in a smooth steady swing out motion.I have shoulder and knee joint pain from Lyme disease, and have found this to be my way. I have the seat height up and the back forward sometimes also.

Hi,Payton.Yes,all C4's are like that. They do have high door sills, and they can be a slight pain to get in and out of.HOWEVER,I as well as every other C4 owners have developed an art form so to speak to get in and out of our cars. The C4 is not perfect, neither are we.Just figure out the best way for you and yours to get in and out of it and simply enjoy it for what it is;in my opinion, the most important generation of the Vette ever made.Remember,if it wasn't for the C4,wemight not ever have the C5,much less the C6.That's how crucial the C4 is.It's a shame many have "forgotten" about the C4's,but the fact remains it is still the "make or break" car,if you will, for the Corvette.A long history is behind it,it's not the best-built car ever, but it STILL is a tremendous car.So good that us "simple working people" can now afford to own and enjoy to our leisure.High miles? So what!Little problems? We all have them!!Just enjoy your car no matter what,ok?That's what makes the Vette special. We can all enjoy them!!Your friend, Joe.

I usually just fall out, roll on the ground, pick myself up and dust myself off, then walk away. LOL [sm=groupwave.gif]

As tough as it is, it's a small price to pay in my opinion, just don't deliver pizzas in it that's for sure.

Mech259, it's not often you come out with a "joke" reply, but this is one of the best you have entered in this Forum. It's good to have a laugh once in a while. :D:D
