RE: cags

I did a search on ecklers.com and i came up with this product . As far as i know, you dont exactly HAVE to purchase it. It is just a plug so that when you unplug your skip shift, you will have something to put in its place, as to not leave an open plug. I would recommend purchasing them though. I have an automatic though, so i have no clue where it is located. I would try probably removing your center console maybe and looking around in there. I hope someone tells you different though because sometimes i break stuff doing things to my car that i shouldnt be messing with;) Haha! Hope that helped!

Buy the prodcut and install it, Otherwise you get tamper codes and other bad stuff in the ECM. At the price, it's cheap.

Like i said, mine is an auto. But, i know darn well that if i was trying to shift from first to second, i would expect the power i wanted from second and third gears. I definately would NOT want it to go straight to fourth.

got it figured out. On my year you just unplug the sucker. The 12$ wire holder is just that. Sooo. I bought it anyway. Keeps the wires neat and clean , just in case someone further down the road is anal and wants that system hooked up. It was chevys answer to the gas guzzler tax.

Hello there! If you disconnected everything related to your CAGS,Mid-America(www.mamotorworks.com)has bypass plugs. They cover the open ends of the harness itself.Depending on the year, you will pay between 20 and 25 dollars,if I'm not mistaken.Make sure you give them your year car,ok?Your friend,Joe.

I just installed bybass on my tranny. Located on drivers side of tranny. EZ install 20 min. max. It's a good idea to buy the bybass because it will set codes on obd ll cars. Now how about some help with getting my starter motor off. Thanks DAVE

RE: cags

It's on the drivers side of the transmission. It's a round (cylindrical) affair with, I think 2 wires coming out of it to a connector. After you disconnect wrap or get a an adapter for the connection to keep it clean.

I can scan a picture if you like?

RE: cags

that would be great, im guessing the connection is under the car?

RE: cags

Yeah, you have to get under the car, so you can reach the side of the transmission.
