Correct Fuel Injectors
 

Hi All...
Finally got the TPI plenum, runners, and fuel rail off the engine on the way to fuel injector replacement on my iron head 86 coupe. Just couldn't eliminate a "miss" or rough idle despite my best efforts. I been suspecting an injector problem for awhile. I'm removing the stock injectors and seem to recall they're 22lb pintle type. Is there any advantage to increasing (say 27lb) the rating for a basically stock engine? Is there some consensus on what type (pintle or ball) and size injector best suits the L98?
I am replacing the runners with SLP and plan to port the plenum to match as I reassemble the system.
I also will cut out the air intake grill and replace filter with K&N.
As a final little mod..I plan to eliminate the hot water feed thru the throttle body. Unless someone can suggest why it's necessary to heat the system beyond what builds under the hood.

Your wasting your money going with 27lb injectors if you do not have the heads, cam, intake to make use of it. You would also have to change your fuel pressure regulator and more than likely your fuel pump. Too high a flow rate for a stock engine.
