Engine Swap for 94

So I have the LT1 engine obviously and its about 1,000 miles from 100k miles. The engine is still running great but I am pretty confident that EVENTUALLY its going to start kicking my ass and my wallet.

With that being said I am wondering what the best engine is in the Corvette line up that will fit in the 94 engine bay. Is it the LS1, LS2, or the LS7..

Any thoughts would be great. Obviously this would be an expensive project and one I might not do for a while but rather get the information now rather than later.

Thanks.

LS1's will fit in the C4 but it's very, very expensive. You only have 100K on that LT1. You have a long way to go before you will need a swap as long as it's maintained properly. When the time comes, why not just build the LT1 up? You can make that a much quicker car than one with the LS1 for less money than you will spend on the LS1 conversion. Your not far off on horsepower and torque with the LT1 anyway. The C4 weighs more than the C5 so the LS1 won't be as quick in the C4 anyway. Bsides, the tranny in the LS1 is in the rear and the LT1 is mid-car. Your looking at a lot more than just an engine swap. I know you understand this by the way you worded your post.

Very good point. I talk with a shop that only works on Corvettes and the guy said that he says a ton of LT1 engines go more than 200k miles on them. So with that being said i think i will just stick with the LT1. And ya, i hear loud and clear on the tranny.

So, what would you recommend as some good upgrades to the engine that would bolster power and torque. Maybe give me a few "cheap" mods and maybe some more expensive ones. Ive kept wondering about a supercharger but thats we will see..

I know they say a new air intake doesnt really do much because i have already cut open the stock intake already to suck in as much air as possible.

The LT1 was built really well. There are not really any cheap mods to perk it up. 1.6 roller rockers can help some. To build it and make it roar - get heads (AFR 195's aren't bad), cam, gears. If you want to get more radical then 383 stroker is your route.
