Fuel Pressure Irregularities

I put in a new Aeromotive adjustable fuel regulator #13106 on 10 days ago as I was not getting the 43 psi needed on my 93 LT1. It was only getting 33-34 with a new oem napa replacement. as soon as I turned the key on several times to check for leaks, it went to 44 and remained that way after starting engine. I adjusted it to the 43. It seemed to be quite an improvement. After talking to Jon Banner from F.I.C. he said I could bump it up a couple of lbs as my reason is for better fuel mileage. Went to do that on Saturday and pressure was at 60! I don't understand the increase. I again readjusted down to 43. Yesterday I checked it again and it was upto 52 and about 56 when I pull the vacuum line off. This morning I turned the key on after setting all night even though engine still felt warm (6 hours off) and went to the 52 psi. But I also noticed that the pressure bleed off and was not holding a constant. Would the injector be damaged now as it probably ran for a couple of days driving at the higher pressure? Can I check each one individually while installed?

Another question, when I had the fuel pump out I think there was a small vent hole in the neck of the filler tube, can that be enlarged so you can fill it up easier as you have to wait for the tank to bleed air off for gas to reach equilibrem in the filler neck vs the rest of the tank. Gauge is not dropping as quick as it use to also. Showing full for 200+ miles.
