Fuel pump??

Hey,guys...another little problem has arisen with my beloved '96....a short while ago I had my fuel injectors cleaned..all seemed well.....a few days ago the car started stumbling a bit and losing a bit of power, though not under load.We checked the injectors, their pulse,it all checked out.So we replaced the fuel filter...it's doing it again. It seems every now and then my car gets starved of fuel...my feeling is the fuel pump might be on its way out the door. Now,as far as I know,it's the original 13 year old pump,so if that's the case, well,it's ok...easy enough to remove and replace.Any ideas?? Also, the car has developed a rattling noise underneath,by the transmission....at first it sounded like some heat shielding but it's apparently not,it actually sounds like a bit of grinding. The tranny shifts great..could my flywheel also be going away on me?? Your hought and ideas will be welcome...from any of you reading...MECH??? You out here, buddy?? God bless....Joe

Sounds like your fuel pump. Need to verify fuel pressure, 35 - 45 lbs. Hard to say on the grinding noise, maybe more like a roaring? If so, may be a wheel bearing.
