RE: help finding turbo charger
Hello,my friend.Unfortunately,I have never heard of anyone producing a turbo for your L-83 Cross Fire motor.Back in the day GM experimented with a Garret-equipped Turbo-Vette,but it never went into production and they only tried it with the older L-82(220-230HP) engine.Maybe there may be an obscure manufacturer out there, but given the '84's engine was replaced with the L-98 in '85,providing more power and a little more reliability, you might have a harder time finding one.Otherwise, just try the best you can extracting as much power as you can out of your engine. It stills has great low-end torque, and when tuned right, will run forever!Hope this helps!Your friend,Joe.

RE: help finding turbo charger
The only company doing forced air induction for corvettes is Lingenfelter.Their latest offering is a twin turbo C6 producing around 1100 HP.End of story.
Now if you are talking superchargers then you have a few options the best of which is a "procharger"and can be picked up on E-bay for not a lot of money.Still won't give you a flying machine tho'.Best you can expect is probably a 40% gain. It's quite possible some idiot tried to cram in a couple of turbo's in a C4 but I missed that one. If the second sentence caused an erection be advised the conversion is about the same price as the base car!!! |
