Hey
My name is Will and I have a 1993 Corvette and was wondering if there was any upgrades that anyone would recomend to make the car as great as possible. The more comments the better.

RE: Hey
Welcome to Corvette Forums Will. My name is Matt and I am on here almost everyday about 3 times a day so i usually catch everything everyone says cause i have no life LOL! But seriously though, When you say Upgrades, what are you looking for? If you are looking for power, then I could personally recommend quite a few things to do and quite a few things not to do. As far as asthetics (sp?) i couldnt give you even the slightest hint as to what to do because i havent done anything to my car yet. But, if you specify, i am POSITIVE that we will al put forth our best effort in making recommendations for you! Until then, enjoy your car and remember the WAVE!!

RE: Hey
GEARS WOULD DO HIM SOME GOOD IF HE HAD EITHER STICK OR AUTOMATIC TRANNY.... MATER FACT AUTOMATIC TRANNYS LOVE LOWER GEARS IN THE REAR.:D

RE: Hey
Hey "King" - ref your answer regarding changing rear gears: I want to change my 92 auto rear gears and have been told that I have to change the entire rear end (housing and all). I have never had to do this on other vehicles, so can you please guide me. Also, what ration would you recommend for a daily driver? I am thinking about 3:42s. Thanks for the help!:D

RE: Hey
Well I have a couple questions about my car. Like I said before it is a 93 and it is currently having some overheating problems. The temperature gauge will rise too high before the secondary fan kicks in. I was wondering if you had any advice about that. Also, I am looking more into adding power to the car. Thanks for your help

RE: Hey
Thanks for the info. I know the Replacement 3.73 Ratio Ring And Pinion Gear Set for the 93 corvette improves perfomance, but could you explain more for me. THanks so much

RE: Hey
About the Fan Problem... it is not necissarily "too high" per-se... These cars pretty much came out of the factory running hot. My car gets so hot sometimes when i get stuck in traffic that my legs start sweating in the leg-space. It is kind of crazy, i know. But there are only a handful of ways to get your car to run cooler. One way is to get a new thermostat and get a programmer for your computer and tell it that you have a new therm. and it will recognize the change and turn the fan on earlier. Another way, FROM WHAT IM TOLD, is to get something called Water-Wetter. It goes in your coolant i believe and it is supposed to make your car run about 10 degrees cooler. Also, you can get a new Radiator from, i think the site is called, extremeradiators.com. Ummm, one more way is that ecklers sells a kit that you can hook up and it has a set temperature for your fan to kick on. I think you could also get a dual-fan setup but im not too sure about that. Never looked into it. Hope that helped a bit.

RE: Hey
well what i did is i bought a raidiator from griffin raidiator, 2 inch 2 core.... then i hooked my fan to a toggle swich so i can turn it on when i want or leve it running the whole time i drive.... then i put in some red line water wetter and some stuff called 40 below and some green freez... i bled all the air aut of the system witha vacume pump and my car sitting in traffic never goes over 190 deg when i drive it reaches 185 deg i have a 180 thermostat from be cool.....:D

RE: Hey
Thanks guys for all the help! One last query to worry you all with: I do sometimes take trips, once or twice a year and wondering which gear ratio you experts would recommend - 3:42 or 3:73? And thanks again!:D

RE: Hey
Hey Richard... Im already revving around 2k RPM's at 65 with my car. I dont know if that comes from the new torque converter or the performance tranny or what, but if i got those gears, would that change the RPM's even further?
