I need help. pls imput anything u can

I have a 95 LT1, i,ve been having no luck with it at all, bought the car for 10k, i,ve probly put close to 7k in in for the last 2 years of owning it. so heres the story, was driving it on I-95, taking it on a test run cause i just put 2 new sony speakers in the front and wanted to see how well they sounded with the top off crusing. on the way back home I noticed that it seemed like it was struggling to keep up at 3000 rpms and at 70 so I checked the gages and everything was fine EXCEPT the oil temp. which was very close to red lining. i pulled it over and it was makin a funny noise. engine temp was normal being from 228 to 230, oil pressure was fine and etc. but the oil temp was at 260 and climbing while i let it idle to see what the problem was. there was nothing visably wrong with the car except it smelling really hot and the oil being extreamly thin. the only thing i can think of is the oil cooler or whatever you call it in the radeator, but i have only learned this today and dont even know if the car has a oil cooler. please help, just got new camshaft and lifters put in last month which cost bout 2300 and now this.

I think I'd try a new oil temp sending unit first. Seems to me that if the oil was really hot, the coolant temp would be too.

i had a cink in one of the oil sensor lines but that didnt solve the problem, well now i have a bad connector rod and possibly oil pump. im giving up on this engine and gona put a remanufactued one in. this engine just broke 100k miles and already 2 major internal engine problems.

Sometimes it just seems easier to start over from scratch. Good Luck!
