Intake manifold RTV sealer
Greeting from California. Working on re sealing the intake manifold on my 1989 . Hope the second time is a charm. In the valley between the heads, what is the best RTV gasket maker to use? Also should the intake gaskets be sealed to the head? If so what do you recommend as a sealer? Second time around on the job, the RTV permatex red didn't seal the rear of the intake manifold and its leaking oil.

RE: Intake manifold RTV sealer
One thing to remember, RTV is a sealer, not an adhesive. Do not use it to hold a gasket in place. Make sure both mating surfaces are clean and grease and oil free. Put it on wet and bolt manifold down with it still wet so it will bond to both surfaces and only use it on the front and rear of manifold. ;)

RE: Intake manifold RTV sealer
You can, but I never do. I always use Fel Pro gaskets and never have any problems. [8D]
