Issue with non-starting

84 Corvette. Stock. 5.7L auto.

Drove it one day, parked outside garage, no worries. Cold night that night, down to freezing. In the morning, battery appeared to be dead. Half a crank or so, and all done.

The background. I've been having an issue with the tach not working until the car warmed up a good bit. So while waiting for the battery to charge, I wiggled around the wires on the diz that seem to relate to the tach. Looked at ground, etc. Just checking around.

Battery gets charged, cranks well, no start. Far as I can tell, no spark, no fuel from the TBI system. Butterflys in carbs are dry. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is pumping.

Any clues? I currently have the battery disconnected, thought maybe the ECU could use to drain all it's power and start fresh.

Fixed it. When I messed around with the tach wire on the distributor, I apparently broke off the main terminal. I was looking at it for corrosion, since the tach is slow to come to life.

Replaced the coil, fixed it.

Just shows to go ya, don't mess around when you have a problem. My battery was dead, and I decided to clean up those terminals while it was charging.

Charge first, start car, then mess with terminals. Next time I'll know.

Thanks.
