Mom killed my breaks
Hey all, tonight my mom had to drive my vet (which she has never driven before) down to my work to trade me cars. I left my hood up at home. i havethe aftermarket hood prop installed. Anyways long story short she didn't know how to put the hood down and broke the prop in two pieces. She drove it down to the store and told me i had no breaks. I found out later that the prop had been hitting the master cylinder's wire. When i drive the car its like pusing your foot into a wall. I have no breaks, and you have to push with all your might to be able to stop. I am taking the car to the shop tomorrow to get fixed. Any idea what happened?

RE: Mom killed my breaks
Probably knocked the vacuum hose off the brake booster. No power assist now. Hear any hissing with engine running?

RE: Mom killed my breaks
Yep, sound like the vacuum line on the boosterhas been knocked off,but that would cause a bad vacuum leak, andyou would probably have a rough idle if that was the case

RE: Mom killed my breaks
Well i took it down to the shop this morning, so hopefully they'll have all the bugs worked out. I'll be sure to post what their diagnostic was. thanks for the responses

RE: Mom killed my breaks
My only advise is "never let anyone else drive your vette." You wouldn't loan out your
wife would you so don't let anyone else touch your other true love...:):D;) |
RE: Mom killed my breaks
haha good one. I've let my girlfriend drive it. i thought it was a good way to build trust haha. but i guess the the brake booster was punctured by the prop rod. so i should have my vett back at noon tomorrow. :)
