Is my powersteering shot or what???

Ok I am coming down my road hit the brakes to slow down to pull in my driveway and start turning the wheel and as soon as I hit the BRAKES its like I havea manual steering no power steering what so ever. Its taken everything I have to turn it. Then I noticed when I am sitting in my driveway and hold the brakes down and turn it its like it doesnt want to go when im back up. It takes all my streghnth to turn that damn wheel. Whats up with it. The fluid was just changed no leaks a new hose is on the resovoir. There is no squeaking or something. I thought that meant the rack/pinion was going out but it makes no noise. Also its NOT MORNING SICKNESS!!! This is hwen its been drove around for atleast an hour if not more so its plenty warmed up. It started in july and now has come to now. I havent had the time/money to mess with it so I am asking you guys for advice. What is wrong. I cant just throw money I already DONT have at something thats not going to fix it. Help me please...Thanks:D

Sounds like the p/s pump. Characteristic of worn turbine fins in pump, under low rpm, not much pressure or pressure check valve is sticking in pump. How does it do on cold starts in the morning? If that is the case, the rack might be bypassing due to worn internal plunger orings. I would go with a pump 1st. [8D]

:D Ya want to help me get a cheap one. I cant afford a 300+$$ pump. You got a shop, you are bound to get parts cheap. My parents are not going to go for this.
