Normal Operating Temp. for a 84 Vette?

Greetings,

What is the normal operating temperature for a 84 Corvette?
My brothers car seems to run close to 220 degrees cruising or idling during the smoking hot summer here in Alabama...
Just wondering ig this is normal?
Thanks for any help.
Bert

RE: Normal Operating Temp. for a 84 Vette?

that temp is norm for just about snthing over 100* in stop and go traffic, but that does not mean you have to settle for that if you dont want to, there are many different ways to make it run cooler if you choose to do so.

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply, its my brothers car and he is interested in how to lower the operating temperature. It seems too hot, especially the oil temp.
He and I both will search this board for previous posts dealing with this problem.
Any links to info are appreciated...

Should a 84 have a fan in front of the radiator? His only has the one fan, behind the radiator.
Thanks again.
Bert
