paint change??

My 84 is white with red interior (needs paint) . Im thinking of changing the color to black, but a lot of people (non vette owners) are telling me to keep it white or go to white pearl. If I go black of course I would have to do the door jams etc. Im not a big fan of white cars but the car has low miles and is in real good shape. If I did go with white pearl would I be ok with the stock white door jams etc.? any thoughts or opinions ,experiences would be greatly appreciated.

thanks again -tattoo

Hello,my friend. If it were my car,I would stick with the original color, although the pearl sounds interesting.I think you should do all the jambs whether you change colors or not.But if your car is low-mileage like you say,why not keep it original? The C4 does look good in white, you know.Oh,by the way,the paint code for the '84 is 10.Hope this helps and let me know what you decide, will ya? Your friend,Joe.

Where are the paint codes and others on this car? My Z28 has them in the glove box but not this car.

Hello, again.Check inside that little cubby hole behind the passenger seat,or inside the glove box.In either one you should find all these codes, numbers, letters, etc.Have you considered becoming a member of the National Corvette Museum? I did,and they have this neat thing. You send them your vin,and they'll give you an actual copy of your car's build sheet, what options it came with, which number yours was out of total production,a copy of the window sticker, and all other neat stuff. And it's not expensive either.Just about $50.00 to join. And hey, don't forget the paint code for your '84....code 10.I got that from this book called the Standard Catalog of the Corvette.Try to find that book if you can. It's great.Hope this helps;your friend,Joe.
