Passenger window
 

Ii have a 94 with 50000 miles on it. the passenger side window will not roll down from that side. It will roll up but not down. Will roll up and down from drivers side. New switches on both sides, new motor on passengers side. any help appreciated. TIA

Welcome to the forum. How are you getting the window down if it won't roll down? Did it ever work with the new motor? If the motor is good, try putting 12 volts on the contact for rolling it down.

The window works up and down from the drivers side. Just up from passengers side.

No but I have only had it 2 months.

You're going to have to start at the connector at the motor and see if you're getting 12 volts when the switch is in the up position. If not, then you will have to go to the terminal on the switch and see if the switch is applying 12 volts to the up terminal. Since it does roll down, it's safe to assume I believe that the switch is getting 12 volts.

If you don't have a voltmeter, you can get a digital one at Harbor Freight for less than $10.

I agree. Should be easy to find with a volt meter. I would suspect the switch or a connector problem since the motor works from the driver side.

I'm with these two guys. Must be a bad connection between the switch and the motor. The meter should help you find it.

Sorry to take so long to reply. I got a schematic for windows . Started tracing out the wires and everything checked out ok. problem ended up being a bad solder joint on the window switch. pulled the switch apart and checked the little circuit board for cracks or burnt places and found the bad place, resoldered it and away it went. Thanks for all the help.

Just for someone else's benefit down the road, I had a similar issue thee other year. First off I found the 2 windows switches to be identical, so you can swap them side to side to test. In my case a found a pair of new switches on eBay and they weren't that costly, so though I wasn't absolutely sure it was the switch at the time, I bought them. When I pulled the original and it proved to be bad so I had my fix.
