hello , just got my first corvette c-4 at age 62 .. im a seasoned car restorer

electricals are not my sharpest blade but I do have a snap-on probe and a bit of sense

the problem is a 6.7 amp:mad: electrical and continuous draw when car is just sitting

add on a etxra neg cable and the draw stops for a few seconds ... hmm
than returns its ugly head ... just weird stuff here
every fuse has been removed from the fuse box and the draw still exists
got new starter , optima battery , fuel pump relay
the car is factory stock with 105 k miles
Can some one suggest something .... I will owe you a smoothie of your choice :p

Yeah, I'm having a similar problem. Bought a battery disconnect to keep from being embarrased if I'm out somewhere. I also bought a battery tender for when it sits idle in the garage for extended periods. Neither of these solve the real problem but they do keep the car usable. I think mine is isolated to the Air Conditioning Controls. The battery does not get drained every time. It is intermittant. But, every time it drains while sitting, when I put the charger on it and get it restarted the AC control has gone to Auto even though I make it a standard pratice to turn the switch to off before shutting down. Conversely, every time the car stays charged and starts without a problem the AC switch stays on the OFF setting. I have the electrical circuts from the service manual but I can not isolate the problem. Even when I pull the fuse for the AC/ctsy lights the drain is still there. my car is an 87 convrt with the upgrade AC/heater controls. So you might want to check yours. if you figure it out let me know cause I've been chasing it for a year or longer and I remain stumped. I would gladly change out for a reconditioned AC/heat control if I was sure that would solve the problem, but I'm not. Hope this helps you.
