Seafoamed it

was having problems with 1987 convertible added seafoam to the gas and let the pvc suck up a can till it died started it 4 hrs later and it runs great now. might have had a sticky lifter or something went and bought more for the other cars. I hope it cured the problem and didn't just hide something I guess time will tell having fun though never owned a corvette and love the thing

Ill try it thru the gas tank and see what happens. If it works I will pour half a can thru the oil and let it cycle thru there and thatll be good enough for me. Thanks.

What is seafoam? What does it do? When do you use it? How do you use it? Where do you get it from?

Its in a can. You pour it into your gas tank oil and it cleans up your motor if you have carbon buildup. Your car will smoke like hell if its full of carbon WHICH IS GOOD because it means its working. Pouring it thru the pcv valve you are risking hydrolocking your motor...Pour it in till it stalls then crank it up in a few hours time. You can get it at your local auto parts store.

you would have to put a whole lot of seafoam in to be able to hydrolock a motor and if ya managed to do that I guess you could pull the plugs and crank it over a couple times to clear it out.

I Seafoamed my 95 LT1(55K) last year. Stuff worked great. I used a coffee filter in a funnel and put it through the brake booster line into the plenum. Pour the Seafoam into the filter but allow some air to go around it. No hydrolock problem. Blew all kinds of carbon out of the tail pipes! Made lots of smoke! My neighbors loved it! Called the fire dept! Pepped the old girl right up. The dude that owned my car before me didn't drive it with enough.... emotion maybe. I do wonder what the inside of the cat looks like though. I'll take a gander at it when I change the exhaust this spring, she's been way too quiet for way too long. Catch Ya.

If you run Seafoam through the brake booster line or anywhere other than the gas tank be sure and get your oil changed soon.
