Sluggish Steering

The steering in my 87 Vette conv't was sluggish and stiff for the first 5 minutes of driving. I drive my Vette from May until Oct, then store it away and bring out my 2003 Intrepid ES for the Winter months. During these Summer months, in the morning, it is hard to steer the car, sometimes I had to fight the wheel. After 5 minutes, the stiffness goes away. I just learned from my mechanic that there is a TSB out on this; it is #03-32-06 ( Apr 08/94). There is no cure for this, unless someone can advise the cure. FYI, Ladies & Gentlemen.

RE: Sluggish Steering

More than likely, your steering rack is bypassing internally when it is cold because the internal o-rings are hard and don't seal well when cold and after they heat up, they start sealing, hence you have power assist. The only fix is to replace the rack. [:o]
