Sound System

Any suggestions on a sweet sound system for my 1990 C4 converatble? I have an alpine with a couple of front speakers and a sub woofer with amp. The radio face has too many lights, bells, and whisltes. I need to trash it. I'm leaning towards and Eclipse system or an Alpine 5-1 system although I've just been told the 5-1 is too much for the car ie: center speaker, two front, two rear and a sub woofer (this has two amps). I'm not looking for head banging music, just some quality cruising tunes. Oh and yes and a bag pipe tune or two. HELP!!!!

RE: Sound System

An Alpine head unit should give ya really good sound and once you're used to it it's as easy to use as any other. That said, you might consider a Pioneer unit, good sound, easy to use. Combine this with Infinity 2 ways in the door, and 6X9 3 ways behind you. You'll have all the sound you need!.Keep the amp and sub, both the pioneer and Alpine offer separate control of the sub volume. best of luck.

I love sound, Find a unit that you like and put it in your car. I like pioneer. I have a kenwood in my car now, works good. You can get a converter for the bose sound for 50$ or so that you can just plug in the new unit and turn it on. The bose units in the vettes are great sounding. In the 84 I owned it had a junky clarion. After the years pass, the amps go on the bose speakers. Remove the circuit boards and run new wire to the bose speakers bypassing the amps. Some of the best sound you get.

good luck
