RE: stuck CD

Well d*mn lol. I wouldnt fall into your intelligence category either then because have done the same thing! When i had to force the CD into the player it was because it was a "burned" CD and not a regular one and so it wasnt accepting it so i got pissed and decided to jam it. Assuming he had the same problem as me, the cd went in most of the way but not all of the way and you can still see it looking through the mouth of the player. All i did was get some needle nose pliers and VERY VERY CAREFULLY remove the CD. You will almost certainly not be able to use the cd again because of scratches and what not, but at least it wont be stuck anymore.

If this isnt the case and you cannot see the CD, I have no idea what to say ;) Except i hope everything works out for you!! ;)

RE: stuck CD

I'm not sure if this will work but I found it in another forum and it looks like an easy fix:
Turn off the stereo.
Turn off the ignition.
Restart the engine.
Turn on the stereo, and immediately hit the CD eject button.

Is it possible there are two disks in the slot now? Good luck.
Jim

RE: stuck CD

On some CD players there is a very very tiny button that can only be pressed with a pin, it is usually near the CD part of the player. If there is one press and see ;) the CD may come out !

Not to change the subject, but when you burn a cd, it needs to be converted to a .wav file and close the cd on your burning program. I went through some headaches on that before I got the combo down. [8D]

RE: stuck CD

Actually, there was/is quite a bit of confusion regarding media and format types - surprise huh? .wav, .mp3, .wma, etc are all formats. Media would be a "type" of disc - CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD-R, etc. (even flash memory based "cards" are considered media. Anyway, years ago when we first introduced CD players, for the car, that were CD-R / RW compatible we had a lot of customer complaints about the deck not reading CD-R / RW's. To make a long story short, not many car decks, especially factory decks will read a .wav file. More recent deck (not many) will, but a .wav file is HUGE compared to an MP3, WMA, AAC, etc. Older decks that were CD-R / RW compatible meant that you could burn a disc (a compilation maybe) or copy a disc, but the original CD-DA (compact disc digital audio) format had to be used again when burning the disc, not .wav file. Just FYI...
