Theft Deterent System Horn Issues 1984
 

Hi, My 1984 corvette was sitting in the parking lot and the security system was unarmed. The horn started going off continuously. I went over and unlocked the car by both doors with keys thinking maybe the TDS was maybe armed. The car would not start. I put the key in the ignition and turn it to start the car and got nothing but my horn going off. After doing some research I opened up the DIC area and removed the 10 amp fuse to disable the TDS and bypassed the starter relay with jumping the outer posts in the starter relay deterrent . The car then started but the horn still rang continuously. I went and bought a new horn relay thinking that may be the issue and put it in. Horn still blows. I can now start and drive the 1984 corvette but had to pull the horn relay and thus have no horn. I did find if the driver's door is open the horn quits. When I shut the driver's door it goes off again. This after disabling the TDS system. What inside the door panel would cause this? Any help would be appreciated! Help! Thanks Gary

Maybe you should try and disconnect the main wires that lead to the battery. However, you shouldn't cut them but only disconnect them by using a wrench. Then, you can hook the wires up. This might reset the horn.
