Upgrade?

I am getting ready to do a couple of upgrades. I just wanted some opinions to see if I am headed in the right direction.

1. 52mm throttle body
2. Air intake
3. Mass air flow sensor
4. 1.6 ratio roller rockers
5. Headers and remove converter

My car is a 1985 with the L98. The car is stock right now and I would like to get a little more touque out of it. I am looking to get some push you back in the seat kind of power. If you know what I mean. Just looking for mainly boltons now I am not wanting to get too crazy just yet. Last but not least is any of this going to mess with the computer? Thanks for all your help it is greatly appreciated!

RE: Upgrade?

1. wont do you a whole lot of good with out other intake mods
2. some people say you'll get 5hp from this, i really dont know (i did it anyways)
3. debate on whether or not this helps
4. awesome mod! by far one of the best bolt ons. for every point of ratio, you can expect 25hp, plus a lot less friction.
5. im not going to endorse removing the cats, but headers will give you some nice hp, and will sound cool too.

Sounds like a great start. i think you will definately get some seat-of-the-pants results. although a tune would help just that much more, i dont think its necessary for those mods. i think next you should look at some major porting or an intake change.

Hi Big Bob. Go to my original thread, dated July 28th, "More Horses C4 & C5 Only", and see if this helps you. You might also want to read thru all the threads connected with my original thread. Good luck with your mods. :D

RE: Upgrade?

Those mods will help some, but the nature od the beast, so to speak, is to flatten out around 5500 rpm with a TPI unit. They make great low end power, though. The secret is to make it breathe better. ;)
