VATS question....................ho, hum
I'm sure a thread is started about every week with that title, but oh well here goes anyway. My son was messing with the passenger side door locks when all of sudden the horn starts beeping and wouldn't stop. Finally it did stop and I thought I was safe, so we went for a ride and hit a bump in the road and the alarm started going off again. I ended up disconnecting the battery and it seemed to fix it, other now I get a stupid light blinking "Security" and I can't seem to get it to stop. Yes, I plan on removing all this "VATS" crap, but is there anything easy to stop this for now like pulling VAT fuses or something. I know it's not a key "resister" issue, I have two of them and tried both. Thanks for listening to my grumbling.

Dan: Your Question about your VATS. You need to put your key in the door lock and turn too disable the alarm after it has been set off.

Thanks for the info, I believe I did that (among other things while my horn was beeping) but I'm going to try it again just to make sure.

I have had the same issue. What do you do when the alarm goes off? Please explain, I am new to the corvette family.

I'm new also, that why I'm posting dumb questions all the time. I have about three different books coming in the mail this week to help with all my questions, but the forum is awesome and a ton of folks willing to help out.
I'm not sure how I set my alarm off, it seemed to be my kid messing with the inside door locks. I tried what was suggested above and used the door key to turn the lock and it seemed to stop the blinking light (SO I THOUGHT) It came back out and it was blinking again later. As soon as I get next week of, I am removing the VATS crap What happens if I remove the VATS fuse???? anyone know, before I get stranded trying it myself. |
RE: VATS question....................ho, hum
I doubt your car will start if you pull that fuse.
