Went to Drag 1rst time!

Well i finally went up to the track. I ran a 13.6 with my 93 C4. My mods are corsa exhaust and a hypertech chip. Im thinkin this is the best Ill get with what I got right now. Any one have any sugestions what I can put in that will lower my time. Something that wont be a ridiculos amount of money :) Thanks Ray

you know... i havent seen any of these for our LT1's, but i have heard good things about Throttle Body Spacers for the money. On other cars, the spacer adds around 10-15 flywheel hp but the thing only costs about 70 or 80 bucks. Not too bad. I would also recommend a new MAF (granetelli is what i would go with) or a new 58mm Throttle body. you could probably get everything i just mentioned for about 600 bucks altogether. Or maybe even cheaper off of ebay. I want to know about those Ram Air things that take the place of the front license place cover and all that stuff. If anyone knows about how good those work, drop me a line.

first of all, dont waste your money on any of that stuff....none of those will help you, especially if your car is mostly stock.

second of all, you need to decide if you want to build a car for the track, or just add some power. there is a path you can take that will make your car a monster on the drag strip, but will have horrible street manners and may not even be legal. there is another path you can that will add power to your car and maintain streetability, while still lowering your time at the occasional visit to the track.

i agree...gears are the best mod you could do. i dont remember if you have an auto or the 6-speed. you could put 3.54s in the auto or go as low as 4.10 with the 6-speed. that sounds really low, but it will finally give you a use for that ultra low 6th gear, and you wont lose the mpg.
