RE: What the best year for the C4??

The best C$4 is the '87 that was built of left over bits from the '86 plus a few new goodies they found in the warehouse from64!.You can recognise it by looking at the square chassis tube that runs crosswise just behind the radiator and above the power steering ,it should be 1.5" not 2".The heads should be aluminium,I believe some snuck out with "D" ports.Thats my uncles story and he is sticking by it ! Incidentally I'm looking at a post just below where I'm typing and the guy is getting 26mpg.
Consider this;383 stroker ,no cats,no nothing and tuned to hell-50 mph on cruise-36mpg-85 highway,28/30. Traffic lights!!around a pint a second!!
If catalytic convertors halve the emmissions but double the guzzle factor which is best for the planet?

All C4s are good. No good year but its kind of ironic that each owner here says that there year is the best which yea im guilty of butu still its what you have and want that makes it the best to you. Even though Lee is write....ZR1 is fast!
