Window Regulator Retrofit for Early C 4

I found this informative fix while surfing the net.
http://webpages.charter.net/khasting...windowreg.html
Bound to be some sticky or really slow windows over here too.
I like upgrades they add utility and improve a cars performance because engineers determined after the fact that there evidently was a need for improvement and it's the natural progression to the series.
I'm by no means a purest , just a connaisseur.
I can sure tell the difference in my C5 upgraded brakes compared to the 95 upgraded from 94's std/brakes.
If someone will oblige me and upgrade my bank account from after purchasing this last White 95 I will do more upgrades. LOL

RE: Window Regulator Retrofit for Early C 4

Great article.
I have an '86L (built March 86) but it has the old ribbon style regulator. Rather than going to all the trouble and expense of replacing the motor, which all of the parts catalogs recommend for slow windows, I tried some good old white lithium grease and it helped a great deal.

I removed the door panel, peeled back the plastic, and cleaned as much of the old gunk as I could reach without removing the inner panel-The ribbon was pretty dry. Then I squeezed some grease on the back of my finger tips and ran it up and down the ribbon and guide. You can get to most of it with the window in the up position. I did this about four times working the windows up and down between applications. Windows work much better now.
