373 gears for blower vet
 

Is 373 or 390 gears good for a supercharged vet and what stall should you use? I want the car to go high 10s. the car is a 538 at the tires and I already have the g force tires. Let me know your input. Thanks.

Do I understand that you have 538 HP at the rear wheels, or is that a typo?

Assuming it isn't, you should be doing at least in the high 10s right now. I have 565 (with mufflers) and 594 (open cutouts) RWHP in mine and it can do 10.3-10.4 all day without trying, with a best ever of 10.0, on drag radials, with a stock 3.42 ratio and M6.

A stall speed of 4-4.5K will work best on modded LS engines, from what I've seen.

What size tires do you have on the rear and what type g-force. I'm running 345 drag radials and they help over just standard g-force or particularly over standard size (295) tires. (You need to tub the rear wheel wells to fit this size tire but Lingenfelter sells a nice kit).

As to ratio. I see no reason to increase the ratio in my car as it is wheelspin on dry pavement, even with the 345s, up to 75 now. a 3.73 or 3.90 would just make that worse.

Yeah. The engine was built to be a torque monster: over 500 ft pounds flywheel, and 450 at the rear wheels, right off idle. Peak is 565 HP, and 580 ft lbs of torque (at only 4K RPM) at the rear wheels, in a car that weighs less than 3200 lbs. 345 tires, and drag radial soft rubber help, but I can be running quietly down the street in 2nd gear at 3000 RPM -- around 30-40 mph and mash the throttle - not even all the way to the floor but down to maybe 3/4 -- and both rear tires will instantly snap into wheelspin and smoke. In third gear, this is prone to happen in cases when I just suddenly floor it, unless the surface is perfect. Launching it hard, I have to feather the throttle and can't use full power until near the top of first (still get wheelspin, just not massive, smokey wheelspin) and I usually can get it to lock up by the middle of second. In third, I've had it break the tires loose at 75, which is discecerting since, the the limited slip axle, it is both tires that spin.
