How To Retrieve Trouble Codes Without A Scanner
I recently learned that you can retrieve your DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) without a scanner using the DIC Controls on your dashboard. It works: I did it and retrieved both history and current codes. Here's how it works: How to retrieve DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) codes:
Turn key on
Use reset button to clear current messages
Hit gages button (#2) to clear DIC screen (Driver Information Center)
Hold down Options (#4) button and push fuel button 4 times to display codes
System will cycle through modules and display codes and then settle in manual mode
To manually page through codes use the Options Button (#4)
To review multiple codes for a single module use Gages button (#2)
XXXX H means History, XXXX C means current.
To continue through rest of modules use the Options button (#4). To go backward use Trip button (#3).
Using reset button will clear history codes but will not clear current codes.
