I think it's a great idea. In fact, I did the same. Ever since my car had 6000 miles on it, my brake pedal pulsated. The dealership turned them once but after another 6-8000 miles, the pulsations returned. I came to find out that the pads tended to leave deposits on the rotors. Buying different pads may have helped, but I wasn't about to take a chance. I bought the best rotors I could find - PowerSlot Cryos. They will never warp and the slots keep the pads as fresh as day 1 - all the time. While the cryo versions may be overkill, I wanted to forget about the rotors as a source of problems for as long as I own the car (going on 8 years).
Tirerack.com has PowerSlots at reasonable prices and the cadmium plating that PowerSlot uses is far superior to the zinc-washed rotors out there. Dave |
I recall getting some good drilled rotors out of Ecklers for my '02. They never gave any problems.
