Budget Performance
Hey guys your thoughts would be much appreciated. I already have the Exhaust. (Bola Stinger Quad with X-pipe)
Now after reading and studying many comments here on the forum. I'm thinking of doing this next. Halltech Stinger Intake ( can change back to stock in 15 to 30 min if needed ) MSD 8.5 super conductor sparkplug wires AC Delco rapid fire sparkplugs Good tuneup Lee, Dave and all others what do you think? Thank you. for your thoughts and help. |
RE: Budget Performance
Of course, I'm partial towards the Halltech Stinger, but the next best thing you can do is have your car dyno-tuned. Forget the other stuff for now. I hope to have my car dyno-tuned, especially before my next smog test is due.
By the way, if you want a cold air intake system without spending a fortune, consider my CAI mod. It keeps intake air cool to prevent the ECU from retarding the timing during slow moving and stop & go driving. It can be found on this page: http://www.conceptualpolymer.com/corvette_c5_corner.htm Dave |
RE: Budget Performance
Thank you for your reply Dave. Tell me, when you have your Vette smogged do you have to put your stock air intake back in? Is there a good shop in San Diego to get a Dyno Tune done on the Vette? West Coast Corvette in Anaheim is now offering Dyno Tune, What do you think?

RE: Budget Performance
Yes, I swap in my 02 Z06 intake box for the smog, about one week before. I would say that either A&A in Oxnard or LAPD in LA are good choices for a dyno tune by guys with lots of C5 experience.

RE: Budget Performance
From what i have heard westcoast corvette is a big thumbs up. I don't have any personal experience with them though.
