RE: code question

AIR is the answer to the 1980,s smog pump.its elect under the driverside head light.it pumps air the the exhaust manifolds.you can see the driver side check valve ,it has a black hose going to it.check the fuses.have you done any work to aircleaner.try clearing it ,if it comes back repost and i will walk ya through it

RE: code question

I deleted the code and it hasn't come back, yet. i have not done any work to the car, atleast, not under the hood. I think i know what part you are talking about. Isn't there a little air filter in it, which may need to be replaced or cleaned? My 80's iroc z28 camaro had something like this on it, and it was actually exactly where and how you just described.

RE: code question

the AIR gets its clean air from the aircleaner [black 3/4 inch hose] then to the pump then out to the check valves on the exhaust manifolds. i doesnt have the snorkle on the pump like the older ones so no little filter

RE: code question

come to think of it, i've had the car almost a year and haven't changed the air filter, it is probably dirty given where i live, could that be the cause?
