Saaaaay, how did that first one's owner get eight spaces on the plate? Everyone else has seven spaces! ....nice collection of plates - thanks for sharing.

Over the years a number of plates have shown up with a xtra number/letter, in various states.
Evidently the stamp machines are not programmed to stop at the designated, by state, number supposedly permitted. Some get printed with the characters upside down. The other printing on the plate is correct. Some "important", by whose standard ?, have been able to get specific numbers years B 4 vanities were available, officially. A local attorney had the same one for a number of years. Possibly his bro who not sure if he also was attorney had the same . Governors and such got specifice numbers for many years. At some point it was discontinued for security reasons, I suppose. |
