New shift knob temporarily installed
This one is scheduled for a C6 Corvette with C5 shifter threads, but I had to "check out the fit". Now it's time to finish up my Wine Red version and then give it a test drive.

RE: New shift knob temporarily installed
That looks great.....Hmmmm....are you familiar with the old pistol gripps from hurst/mopar? would that be possible?
Can't wait to see your next masterpiece. Keep it up man.[sm=bounceybounce.gif][sm=groupwave.gif] |
RE: New shift knob temporarily installed
Yes, I thought about that, although modeling it would be a challenge, to say the least. I'd probably have to use Rhino and then export as an IGES file if I wanted to have the master machined on a CNC. Another way would be to use modeling clay and then laser scan the result. Now if only I had the time..........:D

Dave, that looks great!!
would definately like to see how it looks in the sunlight :D, or did I miss that thread [:o] Looks good man. How many hours do you think you have in it? |
RE: New shift knob temporarily installed
Thanks, Rich,
Since this is the first one that I've machined, it took a bit longer and I still need to refine the process. Hopefully, I can whittle the time down to 20-30 minutes. I guess doing more than one at a time will get the average down. This particular knob will be shipped out tomorrow, but I should have the Wine Red version done this weekend, which means a sun shot should be possible shortly afterward. I also have a Cobalt blue that will look stunning in the sun. Dave |
