Performance Question....?

Hello members,I just bought a 1999 C5 6Spd, all stock with 64,500 miles and all it has is a Flowmaster cat back system, what kind ofHorsepower/Torque do you think I have at the rear wheels????

AlsoI plan on these mods:

1. SuperChip max Microtuner
2. Long tube headers
3. X pipe
4. 160 degree thermastat
5. Holley/Wiend Manifold
6. Varram Air intake

My other question is what kind of Horsepower/torque will this set up will give or take give me??
Thanks...

Tony, welcome to the forum. Actually, you might already have an X pipe. Check it out.A lot ofVette owners install the X pipe when they put in theircustom exhaust system. As far as extra horse power to the wheels...not much to speak of. About the rest of the stuff...probably 10-15 horse over all. Some will just adust your torque range without adding much horsepower over all.

RE: Performance Question....?

Right now, you probably have about 300 - 305 RWHP. Add a cold air intake to get another 10 RWHP. A set of long tubes adds another 15-20 with tuning. If I were you, though, I wouldn't combine a Vararam with headers. The engine bay will cook, even if you have a 160 thermostat. Rather, get a Callaway Honker and open up the fog light panels to let some outside air-in to cool off those headers. C5s have many electronics within the engine bay, not to mention all the hoses and belts, all of which tend to age quickly when exposed to wide-range thermal cycles.
