Been there, done that
I had trouble with the driver side headlight going down then coming up half way a wjile back. The dealer said they could fix the problem with new actuators ( about $250 each ) and new " insulators " that are those ivory plastic parts used to stop the metal arm that raises and lowers the headlight. The dealer told me that it would cost about $1000 to fix the problem, but as I looked online I found numerous places to replace the pop up lights with non pop up lights. I bought mine at ecklers for about $1100 but to me was worth the money not having to lower my light manually and save some embarrasment. It cost me another $100 bucks to get the fiberglass shell painted to my cars color, so $1200 altogether. Look in my profile and it shows how I did it and the transformation from pop up to non pop up.
I will tell you this.....I dont miss opening my hood and manually turning the drive gear to get the headlight down. Best money I have spaent so far. |
thank you for the info. It looks really great!
