Tired of stock radio
O.K. I have an 02 convertible and I'm tired of changing cd's every so often. What I'm lookin for is a mp3 player for my car and I have found too many to name but none that are as " tall " as the factory. So if I go with a standard radio what happens to the extra space around it? I want it to look as close to factory as possible with no cheap plastic inserts. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Tired of stock radio
Well, basically, if you select a model that is smaller than the stock one, they have to build you a faceplate to cover the area that's not filled with the stereo anymore, as far as I know. From what I know of stereos, it's difficult to find one that will replace the stock one and leave the car appearing stock, I am sorry to say.... hopefully someone with more experience here will pipe up for you.

RE: Tired of stock radio
I did a quick search for dask kits for after market stereos, and came up with this site

Thanx Guys
Thanx for the info guys, I guess if I want an aftermarket radio I will have to use those dash kits that I was hoping to avoid.
Here's another ?, Does GM make a radio that will accept lets say six cd's? |
