Transmission rebuild advice needed

I have 45,000 miles on a Used C5 2001 automatic 4L60E trans. All of a sudden it started hesitating and missing found out it was a loss of power, low on fluid 3nd gear gone, all others binding. I have only had the car 9 months, would like to keep it but the shop (AAMCO) says they need to know if I want to install heavy duty drums and solenoid when they rebuild it, the drum is made by Beast...my warranty does not cover these ports will probably be around $350.00 I just don't know if I need this or not they claim most people who have Vettes replace it with the heavy duty stuff, any advice?

If you are going to "abuse" the car - modify it, drive it really hard, take it to the drags, or race it at the track, you might want to get that upgrade, and a transmission cooler if there is not one installed on it already. However, if you are just going to leave it stock, drive it senisbly and never race it, the stock transmission is very much good enough.
