Connecting HomeLink garage door opener to C6

2008 Z06 427 LE. Just got a new Lift Master garage door opener. Top of the line unit, rolling codes, of course. I cannot get the HomeLink in the Vette to connect with it. I did everything the manual says to do at least 8 times. And I was doing it with the garage door installer there helping. I've had the Vette connected to my junky old garage door opener for years. Any advice out there? Does the 2008 Homelink just not play nice with newer garage door openers?

And let me correct this - it is not HomeLink. The 2008 Vettes use "Universal Home Remote System" which is a different system. Nonetheless, I can't get it to connect.

And just to maybe answer my own question - it appears GMs between 2007 and 2013 used "Lear Car 2 U" units that require a repeater. Looks like about a $35 item that allows the car to send a signal to it, then it sends a signal to the garage door opener.

Welcome to the forum.
I had the same problem when I went from a 2007 Tahoe to the 2010 model. I had to buy that module that would talk to the garage door opener which happened to be a 32-year year old Craftsman unit that had always worked with the other systems.

I just went through this with my 2005 C6. The instructions in the owners manual can be ripped out of the book and burned. It tells you to push the outside buttons along with the transmitter. I found a guy on youtube that got it done for me. Just press the button you want to program instead of the 2 outside buttons. This worked for me the one time I tried after fighting for 2 days with the owners Manual. Good luck and sorry I don't have the video name for you.
