Front end at higher speeds question

Hello all. I have a new to me base 2011 3lt convertible. I had a 68 427 40 years ago and this car is faster and hugs the road like its glued down. My question is when I hit 90 mph it feels like the front end lightens and the steering feels looser. Is this normal? I havent been to a track so I haven't held this speed for a prolonged period or exceeded 90. Thanks for any feedback.

Welcome to the forum.

That sounds more like a problem that the 63 through 82 models had. Duntov was quoted as saying that the design had just enough lift to make a bad airplane.

Since I haven't driven a newer model for a number of years, I can't really be of much help but I thought that they had corrected that problem years ago.

Front end lift

Thanks for the thought. It sounds funny but it does kinda feel like airplane lift. Although it may not be a serious issue. I thought it was worth it to see if anyone else experienced the same feeling and whether or not it effected steering control. Its not that the car wanders it maintains its line at that speed. I certainly am not looking to turn above 90. Not until I get to Watkins glen!! hahaha

You might check to see if there any missing aerodynamic features under the front end of the car. I just can't imagine that a new one would have that front and lift problem.
