New Aftermarket Exhaust

I don't know if any of you have heard of them, but I just had a system installed on my '06 C6/A6 by a company in Orange County,CA... Arlasky Performance, makers of Zoomers exhaust. I know of them through the 300 and Charger forums. I have their exhaust system on my 300C for almost a year now, then at Christmas had them put a system on my husband's Sierra P/U. They heard that hubby bought me a C6 for Christmas and the rest is history - they used my car as their test mule to design a system for the C6. I asked for an X-pipe and they were able to incorporate that; the system is incredible in looks, sound and performance! Throughout the process they took plenty of photos, did both before and after dyno's and they did an audio/video as well... check it out. I never modded my C4 or C5, now I'm wondering why I didn't... this is absolutely what a Corvette should sound like! BTW, when the 'after' dyno was being done there was a Z06 in the shop; the owner was all smiles and told the guys he thought my car sounded better than his!

Nothing wrong with Ferrari! I think an appreciation for sound is a lot like color on a computer... the translation will be only as good as your equipment allows it to be. I have a THX certified sound system on my 'puter AND I have the car... no "rumble pop" sound from the audio/video on my end, and I assure you not from the car! I love the sound; a very sophisticated exhaust note, and best of all, no drone... and with some awesome dyno numbers to back it up.

Check out the "Technology Page" on the their web site: www.zoomersexhaust.com/zoomers_technology.htm - Zoomers has patented technology on their muffler and tip design. I think they are much more than your standard glass packs from 30 years ago. Their claim is to reduce unwanted back pressure while the tip design assists in getting the exhaust out more quickly. A very innovative design...

It's nice to see something new on the market, choice is good! ;)

hi im not knocking your exhaust system.i have bean building cars for a long time,[drag cars.] and i dont care what kind of glass pack muffler you buy they all have a back pressure rumble pop sound when you let of the gas pedal, any way they look great under the car,and if you like them that is all that matters.and i do love your car.dont be upset i just gave you my oppinion.ther will be more.have a great day and thanks again for the data.:)

No, no... not upset at all and I didn't take it as a knock, just responding to some of the points you made. Rather than speak in a general way, I am only relating my experience with my car and I don't have anything that resembles a "rumble pop" on deceleration. Anytime something new comes out it will stir up discussion or debate and I understand that. I also appreciate that you took the time to read my post and share your comments with me.

BTW, nice color on your 'vette!! :D

Hi, I'm Ron with Zoomers Exhaust we're a new vendor here... I know this system can't be louder than your 600hp ZO6... That sounds like one Bad A$$ car. Anyway this new system for the C6 vette is not loud and best of all there is none of the annoying drone or cabin resonance that most aftermarket systems suffer from, or at least their customers suffer from...

I'd like to thank Shoeless for letting us rip apart her new car to build our exhaust system... We are very pleased with the final results.

Installing Zoomers Catback this weekend

I have a 2006 A6 Tranny Vett, and I was looking for a catback system w/t x-pipe with no resonance. If you are an owner of the A6 Tranny vette, you would know there really wasn't a system out there. I think Corsa makes an axle back system for $1,600, but their x-pipe doesn't fit.

Anyway, I've decided to take my chances with Zoomers. I'm getting a before and after dyno to make sure that what they claim is true (I'm very skeptical, so I'm spending an additional $150 to perform dyno tests from another tuner). One thing for sure is that I like the sound and the look (which is all subjective). I've already doen the before dyno, my base line is 340 hp with SLP Intake system. Hopefully, I can gain another 20 hp with the system, which is hard to believe. But they gave me a money back guarantee. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Hopefully by Monday, I can post some pictures of system and post a dyno graph. I'll put by thumbs up or thumbs down pretty soon. Here is the "before" dyno graph.

Ron, lookin' great... and very familiar! ;) - JooYoung99, congrats on your decision!
These guys are great and really put their heart, as well as their expertise, into their business. They are well-known on many auto forums. I moderate 9 Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep boards and Zoomers has become legend in the LX world of the 300's, Magnums and Chargers as well as making rapid inroads with the new high-performance SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I'm lovin' mine and I look forward to your follow-up... when you post your review thread, please be sure to post a link here so we can find it!

Jooyoung99, good luck with everything but I doubt you will need it. These guy look like they know what they are doing and I'm pretty sure your system will come out great. I look forward to see/hearing a clip of it once its all bolted up.

The Verdict

My overall rating on the system: 9 out of 10 (I reserve giving full 10 out of 10, if all claims the manufacturer make is verifiable).
First, the system is 95% drone free, not 100%. Between 1500 to 1600 rpm, there are some resonance. But you know what, I actually like it with little bit of drone.
Second, on WOT, it sounds amazing. To compare the sound, it's mixture between 2000 Lambo Diablo and stock. Very hard to describe, you just have to hear it. But I love it.
Third, I've gained 10 rwhp. Zoomers claimed that it gain 22 rwhp. My base was 340 rwhp with SLP intake, and with the Catback, it was 350 rwhp. I'm a skeptic, but a fair person, so I didn't ask for my money back. 2 main reasons (let me know if my thought process is logical): First, the weather was 12 degrees hotter on the "after dyno." Second, I've dyno the car without putting additional miles on the "after dyno." And lot of people are telling me that it takes at least couple hundred miles for the ECU to syncronize with the new modification. I'm sure not whether that's true or not. So, I am going to do another dyno after 200 miles. Interesting thing during the dyno test was that it seems to gain little bit more horsepower with every dyno run. The first run, 3 rwhp gain, the second run, 6 rwhp gain, third to sixth run, it was 9 to 10 rwhp gain. So maybe I do need to put some miles on it to get the full benefit of the system.
Anyway, I'll post some pictures and the graph by tonight. Overall, I give it a thumbs up. Those guys at Zoomers are planning to do a dyno day/BBQ sometime in the near future, and asked me to bring my car. I'll be happy to show you my car if you live near Brea, CA.

Here are the power and torque curves of Jooyoung99's car good solid gains throughout. I think with a few more hundred miles on we'd get a few more ponies out of her. Check it out...

Note base line stock and Zoomers was run with a aftermarket CAI (Brand SLP)

Shoeless,

I am truly impressed with your command of the spec on the C6. While waiting to unload my Saab, I have missed the proverbial boat on getting a 2006. I am now looking at an 07 and hope to post photos when I do. Please continue to provide useful and insighful commentary as I certainly have learned a few things as a result. Thank you.

Shoeless,

I'm doing a project build('66 Nova). Do you think the boys at Zoomers would be interested in doing an exhaust to work with my car? Some build specs:

Full Perimeter frame chassis
C5 Suspension all around
LS2 w/ T-56(M12) tranny and 3.42 diff

I'm requesting from the chassis builder to include some exhaust cutouts through the frame so that I can get the car REAL low and won't have dragging pipes.

Hello John, sounds like an awesome project!
I think they may very well be interested, I say this because Ron asked to do the exhaust on my Nomad! The only problem was, my hubby had the exhaust and driveline done for me shortly after we bought it so I could drive it as a beater before the project was finished. That was several years ago and before I knew of Zoomers. Those of us that do projects like this know all too well about throwing good money after bad, just goes with the territory... but as much as I love all 3 Zoomers' systems I have already, I couldn't justify throwing good money after good! ;)

Zoomers is located in Irvine, CA, so if you are relatively local it would help since they will need to custom design and fabricate your system.
You should definitely give Ron a call, and be sure to tell him Linda, aka HEMEEE, aka shoeless said "Hey!"
[sm=signs003.gif] and let me know how it goes!

I am relatively close as I live in Los Angeles and they are "behind the orange curtain" as us angelenos like to say! I will try and contact them although the build hasn't started yet so it will be a few months before we get to that phase although I am really trying to do my homework on this so I don't have to "throw good money at bad".
