Winter Storage

Hi. New C7. Living in Michigan. My garage is insulated, but, not heated. What are suggestions as to how to store/keep during the winter, when, the number of days to actually get out and drive will be limited. I do have a cover. Anything special for the tires?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I live in Ann Arbor Mi. and I have owned 4 vets and the only thing I have ever done is clean the car, fill the gas tank & put stable in the tank, I use a trickle charger on the battery and cover it up. In 40 some years I have never had a problem. I don't do anything with the tires. Where do you live?

I live in West Bloomfield, MI. I was told that the 'run flats' should be put on pads, is this so? The trickle charger, where could I purchase? Thanks Johnnys.

So do you never take out your car for a drive or something? Just store them?

Rickensmiley - If you read the original post it was about winter storage.

Rbsurgeon#1 I don't do anything with the tires. As for the trickle charger any auto supply co. sells them. They fairly inexpensive.

Get a battery tender, not a trickle charger. Your battery will last longer. Probably should air tires up to the max sidewall pressure too help prevent flat spotting. Also a fresh oil and filter change is a good idea. Running or driving once a month 'til it's up to operating temperature helps.

I think your cover will be enough to cover the wheels too. Nothing additional is required. Unless you want to use a trickle charger for your battery.
