View forum by subject breakdown

I am able to view the c4 forum's by catagories (example: tech, 4 sale, wanted ect.) until I login. Then the view seems like all threads are grouped togeather with no sorting. How can I get the catagory view to not change once I log in?
Any help appreciated!
