2000 corvette missing on different cylinders

the car runs great at full throttle but at idle it has a miss in it. I took it to chevy, and they say the miss is jumping around from cylinder to cylinder, and they couldnt figure it out. anybody out there have any info on this problem?

I think I might have the same problem. A little rough at idle but runsgreat above 1100 rpm. I checked the diagnostic codes on the DIC and it had no fault codes. I have only had this car for about a week and I don't know if this is a normal amount of shaking at idle.

More than likely you have a random misfire code, P0300, stored in the computer. Lots of things cause that because your ECM looks at the correlation of crank and cam sensors to determine a misfire. When your engine misfires on a cylinder the rpm actually speeds up momentarily and by doing some calculations, the ECM can determine what cylinder it is. Being it's a calculalted thing and if you get some lean misfire problems on multiple cylinders, the ECM cannot determine which cylinder is missing, so it sets a "P0300" code for random misfire. P0301 #1 cyl., P0302 and so forth. Sounds like to me that they didn't have time to properly diagnose your problem and they just shined you on for right now. I can't believe they said that, that's funny. Either they don't have a good tech or they were to busy. I tried to keep it as understandable as possible. I would look for another good quality ASE certified shop to get them to diagnose your problem. [8D]
