383 stroker cam help

I have a 79 with a 383 stroker, 400 crank. Running dished pistons, completely rebuilt alum racing heads with all lunati racing parts. I have a holley comp high rise single plane intake and a 750 double pumper for a carb. I have growler roller rockers and going with a roller lifter cam in it. The whole top end is freshly rebuilt, but now i am struggling with what cam to put in it. The cam that came out was 280/288. I looked at a howard 288/296 and have been thinkin bout going up to a howard 296/302 advertised dur. I dont want to go to big and lose all my low end, but i still want to keep the heavy lope it had before and all the power. Any ideas from anyone that has build up a 383 or who has worked with cam issues like this before would be greatly appreciated. I appologize in advance, i dont know what the compression is or the cylinder size. I bought the car from a guy that only drag raced it and have been rebuilding it for a lil more streetability. Thanks for all the help.
