89 Corvette
I have a problem with the temperature control. It stays at 75 degrees. You can't change it. Do I need to replace the control? The air conditioner is not currently working. I need to convert it from R12. Will this help ?

RE: 89 Corvette
I guess the question(s) are: "Does the AC not work because the control module is bad? or Does the AC not work so the control module has no effect because of some other AC problem? Does the heat work? Does fan work?
First thing to check is fuses and circuit breakers. Check to see if compressor cycles on/off, etc. Converting from R-12 to R-134 is only an practical if you have a leak in the system or bad component that warrants replacement and recharge. If compressor, dryer are ok, just stick with R-12. |

Converting to 134 shouldn't effect the problem that you describe... , unless you have low pressure on the system, and the low pressure switch has blocked proper AC function. |

Thanks for the response. Not sure think the control module may be bad. The fan works, heat works. Checking fuses and circuit breakers.
