aftermarket seats

I want to take out the stock seats from my 1980 C3 vette. I just don't like the sitting position and my wife hates it. I was wondering if I can fit a bucket seat in their place. I haven't found any help in the searches on here so I am wondering if it can be done without too many complications.
Thanks
B

RE: aftermarket seats

What is it you don't like about the seating position?

RE: aftermarket seats

It lays way to far back and I feel like I am bending or arching my backbackwards. I've read about the seat bumpers but don't know where they are supposed to be, my seats don't haveany on them. I am recovering my seats anyway so for about the same price I could get some racing seats or just recover. Either way the cost is the same but I want to be comfortable no matter what.

I have heard that seats out of a pontiac fiero should fit.

I had the same problem with my "80. I split a length of fuel line hose (thick walled) and put it over the back of the seat bottom. It works perfectly to bring the seat-back a little more upright (you can use 2 layers if needed) and is easily removed for shows (mine is all original and I would like to keep it that way.

RE: aftermarket seats

My Vette is Faaaaar from original. I am just looking for comfort. I may try that idea, sounds good. I'd still like to know if there were any aftermarket seats that fit or if I did go that route I would have to just squeeze them in and modify the mounting points.
Thanks so far for the advise.
