Automatic shift problems

First of all I am a newb to corvettes. I am not aware of their potential. I was going arround a curve and spun out. Good thing their was no one coming and that there was a driveway that I ended up in. When I finally came to a stop I had a great deal of difficulty putting the shifter into reverse but it finally went. I backed out and moved the shifter into drive - no difficulty yet. I pulled it into the garage and tried to put it into park and it would not go. It was like the shifter stop was engaged. I also had great difficulty getting it into S. Both S and Reverse are hard to move into. The car did not appear to have any damage underneath and it goes through the auto gears just fine.

Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

well the tranny in vette's are in the back just in front of the rear end. to me it sounds like you might have bent the shifter linkage. it could have some foreign matter like a rock or a small branch wedged makeing the rod hard to move!!! i hope this info helps!

04goat,

Good call, I had the GM dealer repair and what they said was that the shifter was binding. They replaced it and all is in good order. The problem is that it was very expensive - $500. I have learned my lesson on what not to do.

Thannks,
