RE: Car Wash. Lost Power

Lost power as in no engine running, no power to accessories, weak on performance?

It starts and runs
It has a definite hesitation it didnt have before
maybe like you pulled one of my plug wires.
a miss is probly the best way I can describe it

I figured by now it would have dried out.. I just tested it.. same thing.

You blew some juice into the intake up front (unless there's a co-incidental part failure).

can't remember if the 89 had the optispark, but check the coil tower on the coil. if there was any water in there and it dired...chances are you will need a new coil....let us know!

I never wanted to admit this, but I feel we should always go back and tell what the actual fix was for the benefit of others here.

I guess the only thing we'll learn from me here is, don't be affraid to just take a quick look for the simplest of explanations.

I had parked the car for a couple weeks and drove my Nissan because I wanted to take the time to play with the Vette and find out why it was 'missing'.... it was just one of the plug wires had come off.

Plugged it in, fired it up and raced it down the street like a bat out of Hell... it's fine now.. just had a plug wire fall off. Do I feel stupid for letting it sit for 2 week prior to raising the hood and seeing that plug wire laying there? Yes, I do, but I still thought I should post my fix.

So remember, sometimes it IS the simplest of explanations. (make sure you didnt run out of gas, make sure your plug wire didnt just come off... hahaha)
